Art in their Eyes...
Arts exhibition
Date
October 1, 2009

>>> The Photo Report from the event is >>HERE. <<<
Activity
Preparation
The last week of September. Everyone is excited and little confused. The 1st of
October was a memorable day in the life of AEGEE-Baki. Cultural Working Group
organized a great event involving all the members of AEGEE-Baki. The name of
the event was “Art in their eyes…”. The volunteers were meant to exhibit their
handworks. They could represent their paintings, needleworks adornments, knitting, etc
Among the participants were both amateurs and the students of Azerbaijan University
of Art and Culture.
The Aim
- To show the talent of Azeri Youth
- To show how useful the youth is spending their spare time
- To union a big amount youth for the purpose of art
The exhibition
The exhibition was successful. Nearly 25 participants exhibit their handworks. Obviously,
we may say that this event was one of the biggest within AEGEE-Baki as more than 100
guests attended this arrangement. And the point is that the most of guests were
non-AEGEE members. Among the guest we could see the students of different
universities such as Azerbaijan University of Languages, Baku State University,
Azerbaijan State Economic University, etc.
The ground for exhibition has been offered to us by BEIC (Baku Education and
Information Center). There was lots of wonderful handmade works. I wouldn’t say
that the halls were that grand and quite enough for such amount of guests. But
there was an extremely warm atmosphere as all the participants and the guests
got acquainted with each other. The members of Cultural Working Group were
communicating with all the guests. Also they served soft drinks and sweeties.
The most interesting point was that at the same time the responsible people were
presenting different videos about the handworks in the other hall. The whole
hall was decorated as a gallery with handmade works. The people were passing by,
as well as taking photos.
All the guests were asking about AEGEE, what type of organization it is and how
often it organizes such kind of events. The guests were amazed. According to
number of appreciations everyone liked the exhibition very much. (For these purpose
we attaché the photos for you to see the organization of the event).
Of course, it is not the first and the last arrangement of Cultural Working Group.
We have already had an experience in terms of exhibitions as once we organized
a photo contest. Our next destination is theatres and to extent the interest of
our youth in this domain.
